Contact SAS Foundation to help in the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Republic of Uganda

 IMMUNISATION BY EDUCATION STRATEGY (IBES) was looked at in the Educational, Social, Legal and Medical Perspectives. 

 

The Educational Perspective was presented by Dr. Robinah Mirembe from the School of Education of Makerere University.  She said the ministry of Education is busy with HIV/AIDS at schools and the syllabus has been designed to incorporate HIV in the curriculum.

 

The Social Perspective was presented by Ms. Irene Kisakye who is the Programme 

Co-ordinator with ACET.  She said that we need to design a more interactive process to reach young people.

 

The Legal Perspective was presented by Mr. Akich Okola an International Legal Consultant who emphasized that there is need to have a legal frame work in place to deal with issues that pertain human life.

 

The Medical Perspective was presented by Dr. Andrew Kambugu the head of Clinical Services at Infectious Disease Control at Mulago.  He said that HIV is a multi sectional issue which occurs late and there is need for early intervention which IBES suggests.
